Color illustration for Lutis. Initially this painting was softer with a background and more of a nickelodeon touch. I wasn't feeling it so I trashed it and started this one. Another lesson of less is more.
I was asked to do book cover for Deb Hoag, author of Crashin' The Real. After reading the book I couldn't help but want to do the cover in a cartoonish way. With inspiration from Alice in Wonderland's cheshire cat, Lutis was created with an extra but of evil. Check back for the final.
Did a pretty cool maple leaf last night on this guys inner arm. The work of Juan Salgado had a large influence on the background of this piece. Check out the whole tattoo at www.matttruiano.com
I was asked to do a tattoo of a zombie pin-up girl with a 50's style/classic look. The customer gave me some good reference and this was the final outcome. Check back to see this as a tattoo when completed.
