Friday night's show at Liberty's was unfortunately ill-planned. On a better note, the owner told me he was going to make it up to me by having me again and its going to happen the right way.
Ive got 2 shows coming up. First is on the first of October at 13th Street Fear Factory in Easton, PA. Its a halloween show that will be up for the whole month. Then on the 8th of October I will be having a solo show at Liberty's American Bar in Tappan, NY. Hope to see you there.
Today was sadly slow. But it gave me a chance to catch up on some drawings for clients I have lined up for the weekend and next week. After I was done with all of that, I drew my take on another Gil Elvgrin painting.
Here I am sitting in my little corner working on a new painting. Little by little I will come to a completion of this piece. So check back to see the final product.
These are all drawings that were developed for tattoos. The first one with the dragon is highly referencing Martin Abel. The Mechanic Girl is highly referencing a drawing found on tattoojohnny and the pirate is just good old fun and Johnny Depp. Stay tuned for the skin versions.
Just 2 more weeks 'till the skate deck show. We are expecting a great turn out. As always, we are still accepting decks for those who are interested in participating. Contact me directly if you would like to do a painting, donate food, or other services for the show, or help out in any other way.
I was asked to do cover art for a book titled The Woman Who Hated Halloween (coming out september). This was my initial sketch that was turned down. I still did the cover art but in an extremely different direction that my work is normally seen. Check out Damnationbooks for a list of cool books and covers I have done for them.
I Still might use this for a personal painting later on when the time is right...lets say halloween?.
Here's an in progress shot of one of my drawings (posted further back) that I started tattooing on a client. We are about 3 hours in so far. Got some more to go.
Winky Dink Ink will soon be hosting it's second art show. This one will be bigger, better, and radder. Muscial performances by Verse The End, Adelynne, and more TBA.
Just like COFFINS!, Winky Dink Ink will be hosting another group show. This time all artwork will be done on skate decks. Not only is there a change in format, there will be more entertainment as live music will be played by a few bands and artists. Keep checking back to learn as more information breaks out!
On May 11th, 2010 I will be showing some new paintings for the first time at Flux Studios in NYC. This is an invite show only and a guestlist will be present. But until then, here's a sneak at the finished painting of the last sketch posted.
